The FUNLINE Soft Top-CP paddles really big, and can ride small. It's designed to easily catch waves for all size surfers, and all conditions.

Description

Are you hunting for a board that paddles like a long board but is not 9ft + to struggle to lug around? Here is the answer. The Funline Soft Top surfboard from the legendary Bill Stewart is a brilliant blend of modern tech and classic styling. The design and outline allows the board to paddle like a longboard of over 9ft and you can catch any wave from ankle high. At 8ft 0 you can still manoeuvre the board with ease and draw clean lines on the open face of waves.

One of the most forgiving boards on the market, the Stewart Funline gives you paddle ease, trim speed and versatility. Positioning more concave in the front of the board, and a double concave through the tail adds performance, speed and the ability to surf this board rail to rail.

This Soft Top version of Bill Stewart’s Funline model is constructed with a thermal-formed EVA deck which offers great traction and is kinder on your knees and ribs when paddling. This construction is a great option for the beginner or improving surfer who wants to progress but is not quite ready for a hard deck board. Performance is not affected by the soft deck and the board surfs just as well as the Tuflite version. The Soft Top Custom Performance boards are number 1 for surf-school and rentals and have been a consumer favourite for more than 20 years. Essentially what you're getting is a high-end epoxy surfboard topped with the durable EVA deck which will also extend the lifespan of the board protecting it from dings to the nose, tail and rails.

What do you get from a Stewart Funline soft deck surfboard, you get a really versatile mini longboard that you can run to the tip for a cheater five, then back to crank turns off the tail.

The team here at Boardshop are absolutely stoked to be stocking these beautiful Stewart surfboards and we'd be happy to consider taking your old or unwanted surfboard as a trade-in against a new stick, or how about interest free finance?

No just a "foamie"
This is a proper epoxy tufflite board with a thin layer of deck grip foam. It's amazing how cleanly the rails blend even though the foam skin wraps right round. It's very very light and so far appears really strong.... hopefully long lasting like other tufflites.

I've had this board for a few months as a pair for my shortboard. It replaced an old 8ft foamie...but there's really no comparison. This is a performance board not really a foamie in the traditional sense. I've ridden it loads and my thoughts are:

It's flat and fast but knify enough at the tail to handle bigger surf and still hold a rail. It's not a nose rider (unless you're a grom) even though it has a spoonie nose - volume is relatively low, rocker flat and shorter length. I've found it works best with the main fin quite well forwards, it still tracks but it's looser and more forgiving to turn.

I absolutely love the construction, the blend of foamie and performance board is perfect. No wax!

For me I'd like a narrower nose, just so it would punch through a bit more white water, and a bit more tail rocker .....I think it would then be my board for bigger surf with long paddles.
