We are currently looking for the following.

1. Surf Customer Service & Sales
Europe’s largest online surf store (www.boardshop.co.uk) is looking for a surf customer services and sales operative. Ok for this one you do have to be a surfer who is passionate about surfing, surf equipment, and most of all surfboards. You may class yourself as a surfboard geek, but most importantly understand the technical aspects of a surfboard and how they benefit a wide variety of surfers. You should be equally as comfortable selling to beginners or advising someone with 20+ years surfing experience of the best board for their trip to Maldives. You would be comfortable answering questions over the phone, on e-mail or face to face in our small surfboard showroom. 90% of enquiries are phone or e-mail. If this sounds like you read on.

Duties Will Include
• Being the initial point of contact for customer enquiries
• Answering customer enquiries in a logical sales based manner
• Putting a system in place to track enquiries from initial contact through to sale
• Helping create unique online content for surfboards and wetsuits
• Keeping up to date with the latest surfboard development and models
• Placing orders (custom surfboards) with suppliers and tracking their progress

To be successful you will have

• The ability to help a wide variety of customers from beginners to experienced surfers
• Good communication skills face to face, on the phone, or over e-mail.
• Very good PC literacy
• Good time management
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Good attention to detail

2. Freelance Blog & Content Writer
Europe’s largest online surf store (www.boardshop.co.uk) is looking for a freelance surf related blog and content writer. You must be a surfer and experienced writer.

You should be able to research and create both long and short form content to be used for blogs, features and online descriptions. You should be comfortable reviewing surfboards of all levels (from beginners to advanced surfboards), wetsuits and surf accessories. You should understand how to create interesting long form blog features (such as reviewing the best beginner’s surfboards) and have an eye for selecting suitable images and videos to accompany the content.

We are looking for a mad keen surfer, who is also a talented self motivated writer. Experience of writing in the surf media or a related blog would be useful, but not essential.

Duties Will Include
• Creating long form blog content to be published on Boardshop.co.uk and shared on other platforms
• Create sharable content for digital marketing use, including resource guides, social media imagery etc
• Create product descriptions and reviews
• Communicating regularly with Boardshop directors and employees in creating content ideas and maintaining an editorial calendar
• Delivering content in a timely manner

To be successful you will have
• To be a surfer
• To be on the pulse with product development, and current stories in the surf world
• Experience writing for the web and social media
• Ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines
• Good attention to detail and ability to proof read your own work

We are initially looking for a freelancer to work on an ad hoc basis, whilst we establish a working relationship (all the more surf time for you). However, we do have weekly content requirements. Even as a freelancer you will receive huge discounts on your surf gear from Boardshop.co.uk.
