Description

The brand new colab between Torq and Channel Islands in the excellent X-Lite 3.0 epoxy construction has landed. The first model in this colab is the Torq X Channel IslandsChancho surfboard. The Chancho has been one of CI's most popular boards so its great to be able to offer it in this excellent construction. The Chancho is a super user friendly board, that is stable and catches waves with ease. The Chancho boasts generous volume for its mid length size, and features low nose rocker for early wave entry. Its subtle vee-bottom contours that run through the fins help it release into turns way more easily than you would expect.

The Chancho has a sort of mini mal look but it is way more then that. Channel Islands developed it to be a fun all rounder from knee to head high conditions and also be able to deal with a bit of wind or chop. It has a big sweet spot so is great if you're pop up isn't 100% reliable and on that note if you're foot placement isn't right it won't just flick you off, its a really forgiving board. if you're coming off a bigger board or stepping up from a foamie the Chancho is a really good option to take you to the next level.

The X-Lite 3.0 tech is a Torq Epoxy technology developed specifically for performance boards. This is lighter, stronger and more Eco than a traditional PU/Polyester board, now with a 50% thinner Shield Skin for weight reduction. This innovative technology is used exclusively on the X-Lite Channel Islands models; the best selling Pod Mod and all new M23. X-Lite 3.0 technology now features an additional wood layer sandwich between the two deck biaxial layers. This wood composite is incredibly ding resistant but without adding stiffness usually associated with strength. We're super stoked to be adding this surfboardto our range, it reprsent proper performance and great value. This unique combination of advanced materials and high-tech construction produces a board that performs at the very highest level, offering lightweight shapes with a responsive flex (missing on some cheaper Epoxy boards) but also makes for a really durable and strong surfboard. We love the lightweight, tough construction and most importantly how it surfs. We feared it would be too stiff in this type of epoxy build but thats not the case at all, its got really even flex so it deals with chop etc really well.

As a premier Torq and Channel Islands stockist, we pride ourselves on giving what we think is good solid advice without any of the over-eager sales driven BS often encountered by our customers elsewhere.

We're happy to consider taking your old or unwanted board as a trade in against a surfboard, so If you have any questions about this we'd be delighted to answer them and advise on any potential board choices or enquiries you might have, just drop us an email to [email protected] or call us on 0044 (0) 1243 674250
