Description

No one here can remember having had so many emails and phone calls about a board as we have with the The Harley Ingleby HIBT. Loads of people spotted it on the posts from the trade shops in the USA and got in touch. Well here it is in all its glory.

One of the most eye catching elements on the HIBT is the 3+3 fin system, which lets you ride it as a quad, true twin, or an asym fin setup. It really is like having three boards in one, super versatile, super fun.

The HIBT is designed to suit a wide range of surfers, its very fast and incredibly loose off the top, even as a quad. The subtle but effective bottom shape on the HIBT keeps the front free and neutral, meaning you can ride it comfortably on or over volume. The shorter sizes (5’10, 6’0, 6’2) are perfect for those looking for a performance shortboard in Thunderbolt tech whilst the bigger sizes (6’6, 6’10, 7’2) offer more flow and paddle power. If you are downsizing from a longer board or complementing a Mid 6 or Moe those longer sizes are a really good option.

The overall plan Shape is a full nose, clean outline, and a sting-style flyer into a deep swallow tail. The Flyer/Sting design helps the board release and pivot easily especially as a quad. The bottom contour has a flat entry with Tolhurst’s signature rail relief and double concave underfoot. The rocker is a tuned-up version of the BT Twin model rocker which will make this board about the fastest in the lineup. Billy Tolhurst and Harley set about creating a peformance focused but easy riding mid-length which would suit a huge range of people, they suceeded!

With 2 World Longboard titles under his belt, Harley is known for his shortboard style attack alongside a smooth and traditional longboard repertoire.

The HIBT is constructed using 'Thunderbolt Red' a 100% hand layup Xeon Fibreglass Lamination which delivers a competition weight and flex surfboard. Thunderbolt Red uses a Fused Cell EPS Foam Blank which incorporates a Carbon Fibre Multi-Component Flex Control System which replaces a traditional wooden stringer which along with the Xeon Fibreglass lamination delivers a familiar flex which will remain for the extended lifespan of these durable boards. Thunderbolt Red uses a 6 + 4oz fibreglass deck lamination with 6 + 2oz on the bottom. The Fused Cell EPS Foam Blank is wrapped in a Core Shield PVC Shell which affords flexible protection to the EPS core.

These boards are 100% hand layups and finished to the very highest standard, and it's worth remembering that the board you buy from us is exactly the same as HI is riding in all those mouth watering video's!

We'll happily consider taking your old or unwanted surfboard as a trade-in against a new Harley Ingleby surfboard so If you have any questions about this we'd be delighted to answer them and advise on any potential board choices or enquiries you might have, just drop us an email to [email protected] or call us on 0044 (0) 1243 674250

6'10" HIBT
from the moment I saw this board I was intrigued about it
originally reserved the 7'2" version but decided on the 6'10" in the end
it arrived bang in the middle of a run of swell & once I sorted what fins worked best for me as a quad I've not looked back
catches waves easily & absolutely flies along even in onshore mess
can't wait to try it as a quad or even a twinzer especially when we go to Kandooma for our silver wedding anniversary
