Description

The Surfworx Ribeye Mini Mal soft surfboard package comes with fins and a leash + a good quality padded boardbag and a bar of wax. This is without doubt one of the best starter surfboards available; beautifully finished with a stable and forgiving outline to get you up and riding from day one!

The Ribeye Mini Mal is constructed with a High Density Closed Cell foam Core which means the boards are nice and lightweight, and should you be unlucky enough to damage the outer skin the board won't soak up water and become waterlogged and un-surfable. Double resin coated, laminated wooden stringers run the length of the board helping it maintain its shape and perform like a good quality "hard" surfboard. The slick bottom has an integrated mesh membrane which adds durability and improved performance on the wave. The High Density deck skin is very durable and will keep the Ribeye Hybrid performing for years.

The Surfworx 8ft 0 Ribeye Mini Mal has a three fin set which is a real step-up from the normal 'push through the deck' soft fins normally supplied on foamies and this system is compatible with FCS twin tab fins so you can upgrade or utilize your own fins should you wish to experiment with different fins.

The Ribeye Mini Mal is a brilliant option for a broad range of ages and abilities, from larger kids and teens at the beginning of their surfing career to first time adults looking to kick-off their surfing adventure.

The dream foamie for anyone...
After quite a bit of research into the foamie market, I settled on the surfworx board for a few reasons:

1. Its technical specs are equal/slightly better than that of popular Catch Surf boards.
2. It is significantly (£100-150) cheaper for an equal (slightly better actually because of the finboxes) quality product.
3. The customer service was great and honest.
4. The shape of the Ribeye Mal, especially the rocker and pulled in tail, shows that the board has been designed with a range of surfing abilities in mind.

I've now had a few sessions on the board, and I'm really really happy. It is stable, easy to paddle, can go into the wave early or late, and turns easily as well as my old 9ft longboard (maybe slightly easier!). It's also surprisingly light making it manoueverable and even more fun in the surf.

I'd reccomend this board to any surfer to be honest. It is a pure fun-machine. It would also suit beginners looking for something they can genuinely learn on, but also progress on.

Anything from knee high peelers to head high I reckon! LOVE IT!

Big board for bigboy
I looked around for a lot of different foam boards to help me get back up surfing after a hip operation. My budget wasn't great, but after deciding to pay that little bit extra it was well worth it. First off I was concerned about shipping damage as I have never bought a board online before. When the board arrived it was Very well packaged, I checked every inch, spotless, no dings, no compressions. The build quality is excellent, solid feel and not to heavy. Very smooth in the water, I may not go back to my custom. Overall very pleased with every aspect from start to finish, even the personal emails from Ian.

Damn good fun when I can get on it
Bought as a summer fun board for the small waves when it gets too crowded with the beginners. My 13 year old loved it so much that I didn’t get a chance to ride it for a week of waist to chest high swells. However, he loved it and was cruising down the line almost straight away. He finally managed to master the pop up too which was an added bonus. Finally got a chance to spend a few days on it, from ankle high to chest high (could have ridden it in bigger but got the short board out instead). This things catches lumps so easily, there were times I couldn’t see the wave but the board kept moving. In the bigger stuff it can hold early or late take offs, you can snap the lip and get on your back foot for some nice drawn out carves, or just bomb down the line. I hope this board lasts as it is perfect for beginner to veteran surfers looking for fun.
