Taking Mid Length capabilities to a new level, the Maurice Cole RV Hybrid Round Tail can really do it all, and more!

MC's Hybrid surfboard is a stylish mix between a groveller, mid length and a hybrid daily driver. Blending attributes from a few of Maurice Cole's models, the Hybrid model is a user-friendly mid length that can hold its own in bigger, chunky surf as well as matching small wave grovellers when the waves are weaker. You can own the line up with the unmatched paddle speed and wave catching ability and when you are up and riding you can draw multiple lines, its up to you to choose if you want to be aggressive and the board will react or if you want to take a classic line and draw out some longer turns. It will surprise you with how manoeuvrable it really is, but the performance comes with control!

We have found running this with a smaller fin than normal helps control the board, if you are surfing the 6ft 10 and you are 80kgs, use a medium template for more precision and control. If you want more speed and lift, go larger on the fins.

The Maurice Cole RV Hybrid has volume in all the right places, the extra width through the upper half of the board and nose offers an easy paddle and is great for in the barrel and getting down the face of waves early. The Hybrid is a must have in your quiver with its Reverse Vee design under your feet, allowing you to drive into bottom turns and perform cut backs, fully utilising the rail and fin's drive.

What you won't be able to gauge from images is how Maurice Cole's boards feature a Reverse Vee on the underside with the hard, crisp rails from tail to nose. This rail profile provides significant drive and speed. Over the last three years, Maurice has tucked this rail edge a copious amount to hide the edge in powerful turns to allow the surfboard to break free like a more traditional, softer shortboard rail. Similar to its original counterpart, the new Maurice Cole Reverse Vee defies conventional design by flipping it on its head. While most boards feature concave up front and Vee at the back, the Reverse Vees sport Vee beneath the chest. This unique configuration enhances immediate rail engagement upon dropping in and enables more aggressive rail turns. Experience the innovative performance of this and you will not look back!
