Dann Mann: "Despite his preference for high performance longboarding, Taylor Jenson (TJ) is an accomplished and stylish noserider, so he wanted his Firewire models to include a board more suited to traditional longboarding. I’ve personally always enjoyed the stylish nature of the 'old school' and in particular, riding an original Phil Edwards belonging to my dad".

Dan continued, "After a heap of input from TJ combined with my own experience, we developed The Special T. The rails have a traditional soft 50/50 template, along with a scoop nose concave and a little extra flip in the tail. We also relaxed the nose entry rocker to enhance nose riding, allowing riders maximum glide and trim with ease.

Firewire’s Helium tech is all about making an already amazing set of construction options even better. Its lighter, seems strong, no signs of any pressure marks at all, and very fast. High Density Aerospace Composite Deck Skins and a new Paulownia/Balsa mix on the rails gives a faster flex response. Having surfed the tech in a couple of different models it does feel light but the speed through a stiffer feel and responsiveness is exceptional, Helium is here to stay. The Timbertek nose panel on the Helium Special T is both functional, for strength, and looks amazing.
