Description

The Cortez Prism Cubin surfboard would make a great all-rounder for average to good surf conditions in the waist to just over head-high range, and if you're ready to dip your toe into the performance fish market for the first time the Cubin is bang on the money.

The all-new Cortez Prism range has got the team here at Boardshop HQ a little excited, and If you think you know Cortez as a brand you're going to have to re-set! Cortez Prism is a new high-end, comprehensive range of boards constructed from the very latest EPS/Epoxy/Carbon and finished to an immaculate standard.

Cortez Prism surfboards are built around a high quality stringerless EPS Foam Core with 2 x 6oz layers of fibreglass on the deck and bottom and laminated with epoxy resin. Carbon strips which replace the traditional wooden stringer are laminated to the top and bottom creating a fast responding flex pattern which will last for the boards lifetime. What you're getting is a lightweight and durable surfboard with an extremely lively feel. EPS/Epoxy surfboards are a little more resilient when it comes to deck compression and generally last longer than a regular PU surfboard, but the biggest benefit is the way they feel in the water and how they maintain that 'new board feel' for life!

The Cortez Prism Cubin is a very clever little board indeed; it packs plenty of volume through the middle of the board but with the distinctive 'step-deck' maintains a 'proper' rail profile which can still hold in decent surf and allow the rider to turn the board from the back foot.

Cutting-edge construction and clever foam distribution make the Cubin a very attractive board for the competent larger guy or girl who want to ride a short board but need a little help with float and wave catching. The Cubin also ticks plenty of boxes for the first time shortboarder ready for their first performance surfboard; lightweight, stable and forgiving, easy paddling, beautifully finished and with an unbeatable price-point!

The team at Boardshop are totally amped to be stocking these amazing Cortez Prism surfboards, and I for one will be adding at least a couple of models to my quiver!

We're happy to consider taking your old board as a trade-in against a new Cortez Prism, so If you have any questions regarding this we'll be more than happy to answer them and advise on any potential board choices, simply drop us an email to [email protected] or call us on 0044 (0) 1243 674250.

Fantastic board
Took this board out a few times since buying it, and it's everything I was hoping for. It has plenty of volume and length so paddles easily, can still be ducked with little effort too so getting out the back is no problem. Catches waves a dream and is extremely responsive with turns. I'm riding it just now with twin keels, going to pick up a quad set and give it a go with that too. Absolutely love this board, think it'll be my go to for the foreseeable future.

FCS1 fin boxes a bit of an odd choice for a brand new board...? But there's plenty of fins out there and they worked well for years before. Not really an issue for me.
