The new Aipa Big Boy Sting colab with Surftech in their excellent Fusion technology has landed. The Aipa surfing legacy started with Ben and is now continued by Duke Aipa, this model the Big Boy Sting features the trademark Aipa wing design and has become perhaps the most iconic of the Aipa boards.

The Big Boy Sting is an epic board. Is it a mid length? Is it a blown up shortboard? Is it a mini longboard? Not really! This board is loaded with wave catching ability and also performance, it's name is an indicator that its aimed at bigger surfers but the reality is that this board will work for a really wide range of people. The rocker line and wing loosen up what is a high volume board meaning its easier to turn than many boards in this size bracket. It has the float where you need it to keep it paddling and carry speed but the pulled in nose and tail and tapered rails make it feel and surf like a much smaller, lower volume board. The fin set up gives loads of options, ride as a quad in thigh to a little overhead and then revert to a 2 + 1 set up in bigger waves for more hold and control.

The Surftech Fusion construction features a closed cell EPS core which won't soak up water if you hole the board, epoxy resin and E glass, this gives you a lightweight board that will retain its performance and integrity indefinitely. This hand finished beauty is a brilliant smaller wave option, this surfboard colab between Aipa and Surftech is a winner!
