We're stoked to bring you the exciting Pyzel Highline surfboard, an update and improvement on the '74' model which won the Stab in The Dark thing a couple of years back. The Pyzel Highline is a performance surfboard aimed at average to better days for intermediate and advanced surfers.

The board features a flatish deck to carry speed and a medium to high nose rocker to keep it snappy, this all with the medium tail rocker works really well to keep the board feeling lively and responsive. A single concave runs through the board to the fins where it breaks into a double through the fins, this allied to the hip in the rail gives the board a really pivoty feel. The rails are medium in profile to give a good balance of hold and release. Although aimed at better waves the Highline will work in average conditions as long as there is a little a bit of power and push, it doesn't mid a little wind or chop. Its a great option for the top end of your quiver for here and travelling, its a really practical board that's not overly sensitive and will get better as the conditions improve.

Jon Pyzel was raised in California, Santa Barbara to be exact and first started surfing while in junior high. Jon soon became hooked on surfing and was riding boards shaped by Carpinteria and Rincon Designs legend Matt Moore. Matt put Jon on his team and always took time to explain the finer points of surfboard shaping and surfboard design with Jon often watching-on as Matt shaped his boards.

Fast forward to 1992 and Jon made a permanent move to Oahu’s North Shore where he picked up work repairing boards at Country Surfboards. Jon then started working with master shaper and North Shore legend Jeff Bushman who used Jon as his back-shaper which proved to be the start of a glossy career in surfboard design and shaping.
