The all new Lost Surfboards RNF 96 Kingfish is one of the most anticipated boards for ages and we're stoked to have it in the racks. Based on the all time best selling RNF 96 the Kingfish adds mid length power to an established winner.Matt Biolos has taken the DNA of the RNF 96 and made adjustments to carry the feel through to the mid length version. The Kingfish has low entry rocker for paddling through line-ups, ease in catching waves and plenty of glide, just what you'd expect and want from any mid length. The flattish deck with fuller soft rails which deliver floatation and stability. The flat deck allows the board to stay relatively thin which allows for a curvy deck line. Even the larger sizes are relatively nimble underfoot whilst still having a forgiving feel. The balanced outline has modest width in the nose and tail which both measure the same width on all sizes. The board retains plenty of central curve in the outline, which makes for easier turning. The pulled in tail is similar in width to a shortboard, this combined with the shallow swallow, gives it turning power. The bottom contours are flat up front and then blend into a single concave throughout the middle of the board tapering to a double concave from the front fins, which accelerates to deep Vee out the swallow tail. This generates lift and so speed and helps to keep the board a bit looser feeling. As you go bigger in length the tail rocker adjusts accordingly so although the board is longer, it doesn’t feel stiff and hard to turn. The nose and tail remain relatively thin and foiled in all sizes. The fin placement on the Kingfish remains as a 2 + 1 set-up as with the original RNF 96. Twins up front, with a small trailer, is how it’s built and designed to be ridden. The fin placement has been designed and tested to allow an open sweet spot where you don’t need to be standing on the tail to turn this board. This kind of mid length surfboard is where its at right now if you need length for wave catching but don't want to give up entirely on a shorter board feel.Boardshop is stoked to be a key partner for Lost surfboards across Europe and beyond. The staff here have surfed pretty much every board in the range at some time or another and we speak to surfers from all over the world and get their feedback on how the boards perform in all sorts of conditions, so we're well placed to talk about all aspects of Lost Surfboards.
