Description

The Lib Tech Surfboards x Pickup Stick surfboard now available in a 9' 0.

The Pickup Stick design has been a staple of the Lib Tech range for a good while now, we've been crying out for a 9' 0 version for ages and finally its here!

Designed in house by Mike Olson and Hendo this beauty is built for speed and performance. It flies through sections, locks into amazing nose rides and playfully wraps through the corners. Parallel rail lines through the body of the board ensure great trim speed. A flat wide concave nose carries speed and glides through effortlessly long nose rides. A rounded pin tail with a smooth rocker provides effortless turning, control and hold through high performance arcs off the tail. The bottom contour is part of what really makes this board magic a forgiving catch-free chine runs along the rails from in-front of the fins all the way to the nose where it turns into an uplifting nose bevel. A single concave to double V out the tail adds planing speed and allows the board to easily transition from rail to rail. Sounds tech and it is but, all you need to know is how effortless and fun the board feels in a wide variety of small wave conditions. As long boards go we found it to have a great all round feel and suitable for any level of surfer.

It's a classic Longboard that works for a huge range of people in a wide range of conditions.

As surfers we've all dreamed about owning a high performance surfboard with all the positive attributes of a traditional PU board but with none of the inherent fragility that comes with this construction.

Lib Tech are changing everything you know about surfboards and everything you thought was possible in surfboard construction. The all new Pickup Stick is now in the Eco Impacto 2 tech and features the all new Hammerbox, a urathane fin box system which is the strongest fin box out there. It also features the ultra high molecular weight polymer stringer, a great innovation that gives almost perfect flex for smooth surfing and of course is stronger than ever. Using 31 brand-new components to the surf industry and calling on 30 years of experience constructing environmentally friendly surfboards, skateboards and snowboards, it was inevitable that Lib Tech were going to produce some remarkable surfboards using this ground breaking, environmentally friendly manufacturing process. Each of the Lib Tech is handcrafted in the USA with an unwavering focus on building THE toughest high performance surfboards in the world with a commitment to operating in an environmentally responsible manner.

The construction process uses a Nitrogen cell Foam (25-40% recycled content) core for maximum strength and pop. The foam is closed cell, completely waterproof and won't absorb water.
Hexzylon Fibre Foam Skin, this is a smooth, strong, impact and ding resistant layer with the signature Hex pattern.
Next comes the unique Woven Basalt Fibre which is additive free super strong and resists heel dents.
The Bio-Matrix Resin is super strong and environmentally friendly with the best flex qualities of traditional PU and a longer lifespan than Epoxy.

Lib Tech surfboards are fitted with the lightest and toughest fin boxes on the market which are compatible with Pro Box, FCS, and all FCS dual tab style fins. They also use Sprock Blocks at the tail to add even more durability to the most fragile areas on the board. Even the leash plug has been given the same attention with 6061 T6 Aircraft aluminium pins and lightweight fibre composite cups.

"Since I first saw Lib Tech's ECO ISO construction, I wanted to build a board with it. The strength to weight ratio, eco minded materials and techniques, and the fact that this tech was being built in the USA was incredibly interesting to me. I am stoked that the time has finally come and hope people enjoy riding them as we have enjoyed building them." - Matt Biolos

Fresh than a peppermint
Extra nice - very easy to ride in mushy waves with the quad set up. 75kg -I went for 7ft which glides - but can turn easily when compare to egg shaped mids. Hex pattern on the board feels juicy underfoot

It goes like a dream.
The lib Tech is now the go to board for travel (Just got back from Morocco) and probably pretty much everything else. Robust, so copes with the airline baggage handlers, who will use your board as a plank to load the other bags. Just about small enough to duck dive. Big enough to get into waves super early. It's got fairly hard rails and shapes in the bottom like on the moon, therefore carves beautifully with plenty of, off the lip action. On the down side, it's not the prettiest board in the world (looks a bit like a solar panel). On the up side, who gives a stuff! It goes like a dream.
