The Lost Quiver Killer

The Lost Quiver Killer surfboard has been one of the slightly surprise packages of the year so far. Lost surfboards have produced a really functional board that suits the needs of such a wide range of surfers and abilities, its been a real success story.

Quiver Killer Face-on

The combination of paddle power and wave catching combined with realistic performance has made it a stand out option for better waves. Sizing is a key factor in selecting your Quiver Killer surfboard, for the better surfer going shorter optimises performance whereas for the more intermediate surfer keeping a bit of length and volume gives a more forgiving ride but one that still performs in better conditions. As has been written already the Matt Biolos shaped board is based on the Lost Short Round surfboard with pulled in dimensions and that rounded pin tail. The benefits are more speed and hold whilst maintain volume without a huge sacrifice in performance. Biolos is very focused on the combination of rail line, fin position and concave to deliver the best all round package and given the team at his disposal to R & D boards its no surprise that he gets its right!

The Quiver Killer has sold to a wide range of surfers. People looking for a board for a Maldives trip or who want a board to deal with the good days at their home break, or looking for a one board quiver to travel with love this board. The board works well in these conditions for a couple of reasons, the pulled in round tail gives more hold in punchier faster waves, and secondly the nose and tail flip is just enough to keep the board loose without killing its paddling and wave entry speed.

Quiver Killer with FCSII

It’s ideal for the surfer who rides a hybrid board most of the time at his home break but wants a board that he can get the most out of better waves on. It’s an intermediate surfing ability plus board, a local guy, Will custom ordered one for a Costa Rica trip, at 5’ 10” and 70kgs, he went for a 5’ 10 in standard dimensions to deal with waves up to overhead and a half, he found himself surfing it in everything from waist to well overhead (he surfs a 5’ 6” Puddle Jumper), in waves with push the board worked.

It’s not the most high performance shortboard out there but it’s spot on for a blend of usability and performance, no bad feedback to date on this board from what we’ve sold so far, that can’t be bad, surfers are a difficult bunch to please!
