Pyzel Gremlin surfboard ElectraLite Epoxy 5ft 8 FCS II - White

Just landed, the Pyzel Gremlin in the cutting edge ElectraLite Epoxy Technology.

The Gremlin is the shorter, wider and flatter rockered cousin of the Pyzel Ghost and Phantom models.

ElectraLite Epoxy Tech delivers an ultra-lightweight board that looks and feels like a pro's competition board but with the extra durability and longer lasting flex associated with epoxy surfboards...lighter, stronger and way more lively than your regular PU!

EET boards are constructed with stringerless EPS blanks, Epoxy resin (further reducing their environmental impact) and custom designed Web-Fused Carbon reinforcement on the deck and bottom for a long-lasting and resilient Flex Memory. The boards are then glassed with a combo of E and S glass cloth (6/4 on the deck and 4 on the bottom). The finished product looks stunning and results in a surfboard with excellent strength-to-weight ratio with added floatation, better paddle power and that "zingy" new board feel for the boards extended lifespan!

The Gremlin is in effect a step-down Phantom, designed to make the most of average conditions and in reality the vast majority of waves we encounter at home and on our travels throughout Europe and the Canaries etc.

This clever little board will get you amped for surfing, it paddles like a dream and the flatter rocker and wider dims maintains speed no matter how mushy or uninspiring the surf conditions.

Whilst the generous proportions create speed and glide, Jon has added a little lift in the tail to keep it snappy in the turns and the single to double and extra vee assist proper rail surfing and a lively nature in all but the smallest waves.

The Gremlin is one of the more versatile boards in the Pyzel stable; perfect as a step-down for average/good surfers and sized right a great option for surfers new to shortboarding. Ride the Gremlin about the same length as you are tall (a little longer if you're a first time shortboarder) or 6 inches shorter than your height if you know what you're doing.

Jon Pyzel was raised in California, Santa Barbara to be exact and first started surfing while in junior high. Jon soon became hooked on surfing and was riding boards shaped by Carpinteria and Rincon Designs legend Matt Moore. Matt put Jon on his team and always took time to explain the finer points of surfboard shaping and surfboard design with Jon often watching-on as Matt shaped his boards.

Fast forward to 1992 and Jon made a permanent move to Oahu’s North Shore where he picked up work repairing boards at Country Surfboards. Jon then started working with master shaper and North Shore legend Jeff Bushman who used Jon as his back-shaper which proved to be the start of a glossy career in surfboard design and shaping.
