Product Details

The Lost Quiver Killer E.D.D (every day dims) surfboard by Matt Biolos.

The Quiver Killer E.D.D came about when Matt Biolos was on a surf trip with a load of his buddies. Matt noticed that quite a few of them were surfing QK's but with thier own custom dimensions and generally more volume than the stock Lost offerings. It seemed that the guys were keen to ride the QK in the shorter lengths but wanted a little more volume...the E.D.D was born.

The Quiver Killer is a re-working, or if you like an extension of the recently released (and very, very popular) ShortRound surfboard. Matt and many others have been enjoying the ShortRound and it rapidly became clear that this short, relatively low rocker and stubby board was the perfect weapon for fast fun in smaller surf, but it did have some limitations.

Matt spent some time in Bali this summer and began getting requests for custom "round tail" ShortRounds. It was locals and some of the travelling surfers who loved the board but wanted a board more suited to the regular Indonesian conditions.

After building a few of these round tail ShortRounds Matt inevitably began tweaking and fine-tuning the original, and it was at this point he realized it would be unfair to keep calling this the same name. Starting with the ShortRound, a couple of inches was added to the length, the overall rocker was increased, the nose was tucked in a bit and then the tail was changed to a forgiving "thumb" tail without any drastic changes to the width at the front fins. The overall effect is a pleasing, minimalistic continuous curve. The volume and surface area is still generous enough to feel lively and fast in all but the smallest or true "grovel" conditions.

The rounded tail, narrower nose and increased rocker prevents too much rail being submerged at one time in small surf, and allows proper pocket surfing in decent solid waves.

Sticking with the ammo theme, the decal was changed from the stubby speeding bullet of the ShortRound to the elongated, Spitzer influenced round.

The Quiver Killer...a shot straight to the heart.

Great board
I ordered a 6'0 EDD quiver killer a little over a year ago. Great service by boardshop, a custom ordered and arrived in <4 weeks!
It is a great board, i keep going back to it or wishing I had it with me when I don't, ive just come back from 3 weeks in France and Spain and I took a small wave groveller and a performance shortboard and insight should have just had the quiver killer.

Best wave catching shortboard ive ever had, ive mainly surfed it as a quad - stiff flat folied fins for more powerful days (loves a drawn out carvey turn) and foiled fins like blackstix F8 for smaller / weaker days.
Excellent board and service
I had been out of surfing for a while and didn't know where to start. Great advice from the guys at boardshop. I'm 90kgs,5'11ish and just getting fitness back. I got the 6'2''. Really easy to paddle and catch waves.
The Lost Quiver Killer E.D.D surfboard 6ft 1
Had a couple of surfs on her so far...... 3-ish ft session at Fistral and a 4-6ft session at Widemouth. it definitely works well in both conditions and is easy to surf, easy to catch waves and really lively.

I've been riding Firewire Tomo boards for around 3 years and I'm finding that i'm getting in the water more at the moment and wanted a board that was more traditional and better in more solid waves. I'm not knocking Tomo boards at all, I'm a huge fan they give a lift and speed that's unique and I'm really glad I rode them.

The one issue I had is that in more solid waves, because they have such a wide tail, they can be harder to get on rail quickly as the lift and speed they generate with the initial drop when accompanied with a harder faced wave means that you can't always get the first turn in without making a full bottom turn. In other words if its a really fast section where you want to turn as you take off staying not he upper section, your limited on a Tomo, but in 3ft when its not pumping the speed and lift give you an advantage.

The QK gives you more freedom at the start of the wave, its much looser and once on rail is still a fast board. Rather like testing a Tomo you need a few sessions to adjust to it, I feel the same of coming off a Tomo to a traditional shape that it's going to take a few sessions to really get to know her.....

I've also come down 5 litres and I have to say on the QK you wouldn't really know it when paddling, it glides really well and I have no issue with the step down in Litres at all, its very nice how it feels under you.

Its a really fun board, I have no doubt that it will help make me a better surfer its not as forgiving as other boards but thats a good thing, it makes you focus on your surfing.

Big or small waves it seems to go well, it turns well and its a really good board, it glides really nicely and it's going to be a good friend for some time to come! I can't thank the guys enough at Boardshop, had a very lengthy chat with Roger going through options and discussing the pro's and con's of shapes, materials and everything that goes with it.... The only additional consideration is with Carbon Wrap, If the order wasn't a wait of 12+ weeks I probably would have.......maybe next time!

swell filling in for the weekend and not a cloud in the sky......out there......Yeeeeeeeew!
this thing will fly in head high stuff and I absolutely loved it in the smaller stuff
Thanks for the advice on the board, surfed it yesterday, nothing crazy....but 2ft mega clean conditions....your right I was fine on the lower volume....it paddles better than my 5ft 10 puddle jumper (which makes me think I've got the wrong size)! It's a night and day difference to the Chilli I had, I recon this thing will fly in head high stuff and I absolutely loved it in the smaller stuff yesterday! Thanks again!

Great versatile board
I took this board to Portugal and surfed both crumbling and heavily barrelling waves. It does what it says on the tin. This is a one stop board. I'm 5'11', 13.25 stone, experienced intermediate surfer, 38 years old in good shape. I bought the 6,0 quiver killer at 33 odd cl. It felt a wee bit heavy and volumey for me when it arrived, but in the water paddles well and catches waves very easily. In average surf, say waist to chest height, this board gives you all the help you need to catch, while is very much not a groveller in terms of manoeuvrability. The sharp tail rails mean you can turn it well, without having to back foot stomp it at all. Its very smooth also. It's fast (enough) down the line. In barrelling surf it makes the drops which amazed me. You can surf the hardcore stuff on this (not as a quad though as it can spin out) but personally I would use a step up board like a tube pig though for more critical lines. One thing I would say is that the board felt slow into the hollow wave (albeit it caught the wave easily) which I think is down to the catching point being higher up the board than my previous boards. I would give the board five stars because it is marketed as a one stop board and I believe it is a great choice for that. Top end surfers will want a gunnier / narrower board in serious stuff and may have personal preferances for feel in smaller waves that would render this board a bit generalist for them, but the quiver killer is a great go to option.
