The Firewire Seaside surfboard in the new Volcanic technology. All the good stuff you already know about this all time best selling board but now available with the added benefits Volcanic tech.

The Volcanic tech combined with the now familiar Helium set up is a brilliant step forward in terms of performance but also has a reduced environmental impact compared to traditional surfboard builds.

Volcanic Tech is made from Basalt Fibres Extruded from Volcanic rocks. The rocks are crushed, melted and extruded into woven fibres that make up the cloth. The molten rock is then extruded through small nozzles to produce continuous filaments of basalt fibre. The filaments are then cut into long stem fibres and woven into lamination cloth fibre. The cloth has similar characteristics to carbon as it relates to strength and weight however because the fibres are derived from Organic Raw materials, when combined with Bio Resins it serves as better degradable ECO alternative than using traditional carbon fibre cloth.

The Seaside is a truly wondrous board in terms of wave range and appeal. The tail is thinned out, the tips of the swallow have been narrowed and the nose pulled in creating an exquisite curve and a board that fits the pocket and turns tighter in the critical part of the wave.

The Seaside is designed as a quad and has its concaves and bottom contours based around that...so don't ask if there will be a five fin or thruster option...it's a quad period! Rob said, "I actually redesigned the entire concave setup that I've been using in the Moonbeam and go Fish, and did it with a quad setup in mind so that it all works together with the new fin set (coming soon from Futures!)".

Rob named the 'Seaside' after his home break Seaside Reef, Cardiff CA. The board is designed to excel in beach breaks, point breaks. Rob decided on Firewire's Helium construction for the Seaside to keep it nice and lightweight, super-responsive and really durable and ideal for smaller and less punchy conditions now in the Volcanic tech he can barely contain his excitement!

The Seaside is a great Hybrid board that will generate speed and grovel in the weaker mush without being limited in bigger surf. The Seaside is given even more snap and pop in the Volcanic tech, as Machado describes it adds some secret sauce to an already solid board. It feels more responsive to surf and generates speed more quickly and seems to hold it for longer, with the eco angle too its a win win situation.
