Description

The Futures Controller Alpha Series Quad fins are the key to unlock the potential in your wide tailed groveller surfboard.

The large area and pronounced rake of the front fins gives plenty of drive while the much smaller and upright rear fins give enough control while allowing the board to pivot almost before you've iniciated the turn! The Alpha Series fins are constructed in Huntington Beach, California from a lightweight and resilient moulded carbon fibre delivering all the performance you’d expect from a fin set with a Balanced Ride Number.

Compound 6 is Futures brand-new construction blend which is lighter than Honeycomb and the next step in innovation for Futures.

Constructed with Infused carbon fibre which is lighter and stronger than fibreglass, and then infused with air! Futures hooked up with 3M, and were able to develop a totally unique composite material with air pockets thereby reducing weight without sacrificing any structural strength.

Different surface geometries were tested behind a jet-ski, which resulted in a more predictable and efficient flow and a significant reduction in "fin hum."

With the added durability and strength of carbon fibre, Futures were able to go back to the drawing board and set about restructuring the profile geometry of the Alpha line. The strength of the fibres allowed them to modify the flex pattern by reducing the material at the tip for more spring and adding a little at the base for more drive.

This is a must-have fin template for any wide tail hybrid or groveller surfboard.

Excellent pivot and drive for wide tailed boards
They provide the surface area and hence drive needed from a hybrid/groveller which sometimes suffer from not engaging rails. Also fins point to a common pivot rather than distributed like normal fins, this really helps when digging in at bottom and top of the wave. Marked improvement in recent surf - 4 off the lips on one wave!

Futures Controller Alpha quad fins .
Good fast delivery and excellent communication. Purchased these for my 6'2" Torq summer 5 .As it has a wide tail .These fins look great on the board .Performance wise does what it says on the tin .Loads of speed and drive .And much improved pivot due to the upright rears .Far better than my conventional quad set .These fins have transformed the board and now have the pivot and response I was looking for .If you got a wide tailed board give em a try .Great value too when you compare to other brand fins .

Groveller fins
Very light weight fins that have a moderate flex, more towards the tip. The rear fins feel stiffer. Recommended by Matt to go with my FireWire Twice Baked 6’3 and they feel a good match. A good balance of drive and pivot. Really good/fast service from boardshop as always. Thanks.

Love them. I use them on my 5‘10 groveller and they instantly felt great. Nice hold through turns and very responsive. Only bummer is they hum at higher speeds. Not too big of an issue though. Fast delivery too!
