If you were to sum up Pukas in one word, it would have to be surfing! Pukas Surf! Founded way back in the late '70s, Pukas has its roots in the Basque Country, Spain, and has one of the biggest surfboard factories in Europe.

Pukas Surfboards have had some famous riders and world championships hit the waves with these great boards. Hawaiian surf favourite Sunny Garcia won the ASP World Championship Tour in 2000 one of these beauties, and more recently, surfing hero Gabriel Medina took the ISA World Championship title on a Pukas surf board in the Under-18 category.

Its first surf shop (called Pukas, of course!) opened in 1977, named after the Hawaiian puka shell necklaces, bringing an instant hit of surf style to the brand. In native Hawaiian language, Puka means 'hole', and is symbolic in its meaning, known by surfers worldwide as 'the tube'.
