Snowboard Boots

Snowboard Boots, Snowboarding Boots

Finding the correct pair of snowboarding boots is just as important as choosing a new board. You often spend hours from first to last lift in your boots, therefore they need to fit be comfortable while providing the correct amount of support. When buying snowboard boots consider what sort of riding you enjoy and other equipment you have or are looking to buy. There is no right and wrong but if you like to ride fast we recommend a harder boot as this gives more ankle support, off for a week or hitting the park try something softer.

Snowboard Boots, Snowboarding Boots

Snowboarders who are new to the sport normally select a softer style of boot as this provides a little more comfort when mastering the techniques of turning and getting up from the snow constantly. Soft snowboarding boots and stiff bindings do not tend to offer the best level of comfort and performance but it is ultimately up to you and your style. Snowboard boots are now produced to a very high standard. A good snowboard boot should have a thick multi tread sole, this allows dampening when riding and also makes walking on snow much easier. The snowboard boots upper is usually made from synthetic materials and gives the boot its rigidity and styling. The inner lining is often removable to allow for aeration and can be put on separately and then slid into the outer shell.

To put your snowboarding boots on correctly fasten the inner boot first and make sure this is comfortable but tight, then lace up and tighten the outer boot. You might find over the course of the day as the boots soften and your feet warm up that you need to retighten or loosen the boots. The snowboard boots not only provide support but also insulation from the wind and snow. Remember snowboard boots fit like shoes so if you have wide or strange shaped feet to measure them correctly before making a choice. If lacing your boots sounds to slow then look at the BOA lacing systems available from Vans, DC and Northwave which makes the process of hitting the slopes really fast.
