WHAT WE SAY ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
Ok, so its a big thank you to a Mr K Slater for the inspiration for the Rusty Slayer. Start with a board designed as a 'next one up' and take 4" off the front end. The wide point is now 2" forward of centre instead of 2" back. Add a touch of width to the centre. re-blend everything so the front end has a little fuller nose and relaxed rocker. It paddles well, makes the drop and fits because its shorter! The back end of the board is meant for better waves.
Pulling the wide point foreword gives you a rail line that feels a little longer, yet offers you more control with less board up front. lots of R&D last summer. Pros and bros slayin' dragons and draining dungeons in Mex, South Pacific, Indo and Bali. The feedback is super positive. little tool big job!
The Rusty Slayer would make a great travel board for intermediate and advanced riders. The wide point foreward makes it handy in small waist high waves and the back end gives you the control you need when things get little more serious in 8ft dredgers.
It is very difficult to be a surfer and not know who Rusty Preisendorfer is. He has been shaping surfboards for over 30 years and has grown from shaping in a converted chicken coup to an ICON who has solidified his place in surfing history as one of the most influential people, not just shapers, in the industry. The most amazing thing about Rusty is that his influence just doesn't stop. His company continues to be at the top and his involvement in the progression of the surf industry persists with no end in sight.
