WHAT WE SAY ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The Channel Islands Surfboards Whip. In landlocked neighborhoods a man's "whip" is his customized ride, his prized mode of transportation. During the European leg in 2009, Kelly's "Whip" for less than perfect surf was his 5' 9" x 18 5/8" x 2' 5/16", one inch shorter than the board he won Snapper and Bells on in 2008. This is Kelly and Al's re-worked version of the Flyer, with a few secret changes. This board comes with the Kelly's favourite FCS K2.1 fins and is faster and more forgiving in beach break and reef waves when you need to snap your turns a little faster than on long walling point type waves. If you're looking for a board that excels when your shortboard seems to bog, this is the board for you.
Al has designed this board for everyday use by intermediate to expert surfers in knee to head high surf.
Al suggests your Whip should be ridden 3-4 inches smaller than your shortboard, 1/4" wider and the same thickness.
"The driving force behind Channel Islands Surfboards is the demand on design created by the world's greatest surfers, allowing for the highest performance surfing possible. To provide the most dedicated surfers with the most advanced, performance designs is my passion" - Al Merrick, Designer/Shaper
